REACH

Firma-Chrome is directly affected by REACH legislation, our processes use SoVHC. In particular we use hexavalent chrome, although we use less than 1 tonne per year. Upstream our suppliers DO use more than 1 tonne per year and we have written evidence to ensure they are registered and compliant with the latest version of REACH. We are monitoring the ongoing negotiations between CTAC (Chromium Trioxide Authorisation Consortium) and ECHA (European Chemicals Agency).

Firma-Chrome Ltd is committed to comply with any amendment or requirement which requires our action or compliance.

EU RoHS 3 Directive

Whilst Firma-Chrome does not fall within the control of this directive, we have several downstream customers in Medical and Electronics industries. Customers who are compliant with RoHS 3 have justifiably asked if our processes would affect their parts adversely with respect to compliance. The answer to all customers is an unequivocal NO. None of our processes or coatings will result in restricted substances tainting parts. Therefore, with respect to plating and metal finishing, our customers downstream can declare compliance with RoHS 3 in the 2023 format.

None of our customers’ products have harmful substances on them when they leave our premises.
